My mission is clear and my heart is full as I continue the search for the perfect piece of land to bring The Wild Bloom Garden and Farm Cafe to life in Memphis.

I wanted to reintroduce this vision and what it truly stands for: building a thriving urban agriculture system that empowers low-income communities with equitable, seed-to-plate access to fresh, nutritious food. Through education, community collaboration, and sustainable practices, we will strengthen city vitality, fight food insecurity, and create more resilient neighborhoods.

While I pray and search for the right land, I’ve been reaching our Memphis community through my online journal and free recipe blog. My journal shares practical education on urban farming, the importance of eating locally, and how to create budget-friendly growing spaces at home. My blog delivers fresh, seasonal recipes every week to help families cook and enjoy real, wholesome food.

Looking ahead, I plan to establish three key community-based projects to improve access to safe, nutritious food in underserved areas:

Through CSA boxes, hands-on educational programs, workshops, and a large community dinner, I hope to reach at least 500 Memphis residents and help them reconnect with nutrient-dense, locally grown food.

This work is deeply personal to me. I know what it’s like to grow up in a community where access to good nutrition is limited. For the last 7 years, I’ve been growing my own food, and that passion has grown into a calling to share it with others. Everyone deserves access to great, healthy food.

If you’re in the Memphis area and this mission speaks to you, I’d love for you to join me. Whether through following along, sharing resources, volunteering, or simply cooking one of the recipes — every bit of support helps us grow something beautiful together.

Let’s build a stronger, healthier Memphis, one garden at a time.

Until Next Time-

Serena
