It Begins

Every loaf, every jar of pickles, every bag of mix you take home from this porch is helping plant roots on Sewanee Road.

This fall I’m opening the porch bakery again — not just to share the things I love baking for my family, but because every single dollar from these tables is going straight toward the land we just acquired on Sewanee Rd. That ground is the next chapter of Wild Bloom: the urban farm we’ve been dreaming, praying, and working toward for years.

It’s the place where my kids will grow up learning how to tend soil the way my Puerto Rican grandparents did. Where we’ll grow food that actually reaches tables in our own neighborhood. Where the seed-to-plate vision finally has room to stretch its roots — raised beds, fruit trees, herbs, maybe a few chickens and bees one day, and a space where families can come sit under the trees and remember what real food feels like.

I bake these things the same way I garden: with what we have, with care, and with the belief that small, steady work can grow into something that feeds more than just our household. When you buy a loaf of pumpkin bread or a jar of pickled onions or a simple pancake mix, you’re not just taking home something homemade. You’re helping turn a piece of Memphis soil into a living farm that belongs to this community.

This is how we build it — one muffin, one jar, one Saturday at a time.

Thank you for being part of the story.

Until Next Time,

Serena - The Wild Bloom Garden
