First, the Seeds
The turn toward fall has settled in. Mornings gather us inside now—warm rooms filled with the quiet work of hands, crafts and projects that ask for longer light. On the porch, the evenings have changed their ritual: iced tea gives way to something warmer, cupped between palms as the air cools.

The sun still leans golden across the yard, but the garden has gone bare. Wind moves through the empty beds and finds me easily—sharp against skin that has grown used to summer’s steady kindness. I am that tender flower still, open only to the heat that used to hold everything in bloom.
I’ve begun listing the fall projects, and the list keeps lengthening, the way a season does when you finally notice it arriving. But first comes the seed drawer. Organization and inventory, the quiet work of sorting what was saved. It’s been too long. The little packets wait, patient as always, for hands willing to begin again.
From the beds at Wild Bloom — Seed to Plate, one season at a time.
